Laurent Dauphin capped a hat trick by scoring into an empty net and the Laval Rocket signed a third victory in a row on Saturday, winning 4 to 1 against the Rochester Americans.
Dauphin tied the game 1-1 at 19:39 in the first period, with Laval down a man. He hit the mark with a nice move in front of the net, after catching a pass from Vincent Arseneau.
Dauphin struck again at 19:59 in the second period with a one-timer from the left circle.
He completed the hat-trick in an abandoned net with 19 seconds left in the game.
Gustav Lindstrom also scored into an empty net for Laval, which finished a five-game road streak with a 4-1-0 record.
Connor Hughes made 25 saves. He was only thwarted by Jack Rathbone, 2:45 after the initial faceoff. Jakub Dobes had started the previous three games.
Injured in the lower body in the second period on Friday, attacker Alex Barré-Boulet was not in uniform.
He and Joshua Roy lead the Rocket with 13 points this season.
The two teams will face each other again on Wednesday, at Place Bell.
Michael Houser stopped 14 shots for Rochester, which lost its third straight game.
