In a temporary change within the Westchester Knicks team, assistant head coach Devan Blair will take over as interim coach, replacing DeSagana Diop, who was granted a leave of absence to rejoin the team national team of Senegal as part of the FIBA AfroBasket 2025 qualifications.
DeSagana Diop, currently head coach of the Westchester Knicks, leaves the reins of the team in the hands of Devan Blair for this period. Diop, who is also the Lions coach, will be back to support the Senegal Lions in the decisive playoff matches.
In the meantime, the Westchester Knicks will continue their season under the direction of Devan Blair, pending the return of their head coach.
Senegal, for their part, is preparing to face Rwanda in the second window of the AfroBasket 2025 qualifiers, with a key match scheduled for November 22, 2024 at 6 p.m. GMT, at the Dakar Arena in Diamniadio.
This impressive stadium will host Group A and B matches, which will feature some of the most competitive teams on the African continent. Senegal will play in Group B, alongside Cameroon, Gabon and Rwanda, while Group A brings together South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali and Libya.
