Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé are two of the greatest prodigies in world football today. The Norwegian, two years his junior, took longer to appear but is stacking goals like pearls with Manchester City. Here is a balance sheet of the two scorers.
Club goals
It’s a fact, Mbappé’s explosion occurred a few years before Haaland’s. The Frenchman has played a total of 384 matches with his clubs: 308 for PSG, 60 for Monaco and 16 for Real Madrid. His total during these club matches amounts to 291 goals, including 256 with the Parisian team, 27 with the Monegasques and 8 with Madrid.
Erling Haaland, on the other hand, has played 280 matches so far for the four clubs he has represented professionally. He started his career at Molde, for whom he made 50 matches, before moving to Salzburg, for whom he made 27 matches. He eventually left Borussia Dortmund for Manchester City, with 89 games under his belt. To date, he has played 114 times in the sky blue jersey. During this period, the giant scored a total of 240 goals, distributed as follows: 20 at Molde, 29 at Salzburg, 86 at Borussia Dortmund and 105 at Manchester City.
Mbappé’s club goal average is 0.76 goals per game, while Haaland’s overall average is 0.86 goals per game. Advantage to the Norwegian on this level, therefore.

It’s difficult to compare the two players in an international context, because Norway is a much weaker team than France.. But so be it. Mbappé has played 86 matches so far for France and has scored 48 goals at an average of 0.56 goals per match played.
Haaland has played 38 games for Norway and scored 35 goals, giving him an average of 0.92 goals per game. Here again, the cyborg is the most effective.

Kylian Mbappé has 470 official matches, during which he has managed to score 339 goals, with an average of 0.72 goals per match (or almost 3 goals every 4 matches) during his combined career between clubs and selection.
Erling Haaland, to date, has played 318 official matches between clubs and national teams, during which he managed to score 275 goals. His average is therefore 0.86 goals per match.
