At the end of a general meeting which took place in an Olympian climate yesterday, Jean-Marc Béraud was reappointed to his position. At the dawn of his fourth term, he first wanted to take stock of the previous one: “First of all, I note the increase in the number of our licensees. We are now at 19,200, an increase of 12%. This figure is all the more remarkable given that only three committees across the entire territory saw their membership increase, he specifies. Furthermore, we achieved results at the highest level that we had never experienced before. With of course the highlight, our six Breton representatives at the Paris Olympic Games, two of whom finished finalists.”
“Continue the progression of licensees, the priority”
As for the next mandate, Jean-Marc Béraud wants it to be an opportunity to go even further in his objectives: “Continuing to increase the number of our licensees remains the absolute priority, because they constitute our main resource for keeping Breton athletics alive. Another priority is supporting high-level athletes to enable them to reach the top level not only nationally, but also internationally. It’s about continuing to support them as best as possible. In this regard, the results of our athletes at the Olympics this summer are a source of motivation for us. »
Jean-Marc Béraud continues: “The third priority area is the development of our clubs in terms of structures. Finally, I will emphasize the need to focus on our young people as athletes, but also at the level of our leaders in particular to avoid situations such as that of our Norman neighbors where no one showed up for the election of their Regional Committee, which is serious. It is important to integrate our youngest members now in terms of responsibilities to ensure succession when the time comes.”

Always granting high esteem to his role as President of the Regional Committee, Jean-Marc Béraud is determined that this fourth mandate will not be one too many: “For us it is now a matter of living up to the trust that the clubs have renewed in us today. And we will try not to disappoint them.”
