FIFA unveiled, this Thursday, November 14, the design of the trophy for the 2025 Club World Cup which will take place from June 13 to July 15, 2025.
The FIFA Club World Cup trophy will be raised for the first time following the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup Final at MetLife Stadium in New York, New Jersey on Sunday, July 13, 2025.
“Representing FIFA’s 211 member associations, iconic elements of our sport, as well as writings in 13 languages and Braille, the trophy unites the world and symbolizes the past, present and future, preserving the heritage of the club football for generations to come”, FIFA said in a statement.
The distinctive design consists of a central disc and three outer rings, each laser engraved on both sides with text and images representing the rich history and culture of football.
Designed by FIFA, the inspiration for the trophy is multiple: the famous Voyager gold discs carried on NASA Voyager’s deep space missions in the 1970s, the periodic table, maps of pioneering voyages and astronomy all played a role in the conceptualization of the trophy.
As a reminder, the tournament will see the participation of 32 teams from the four corners of the globe, including Wydad de Casablanca. This edition will mark the first expanded version of the competition, which will see prestigious clubs like Real Madrid and Al Ahly join Wydad.
This Club World Cup is generating great excitement among football fans, since it will bring together the best clubs from the different confederations for a unique competition.
Indeed, this season, FIFA is preparing to launch a new format for the Club World Cup competition. This format will constitute a significant expansion.
Previously, the Club World Cup featured only seven teams from FIFA’s six confederations. One representing the winner of each confederation’s most important knockout competition.
