Craig Conroy reveals his strategy that will directly affect the Canadian

If there is one team that the Canadian must watch closely this season, it is the Calgary Flames.

Let us remember the transaction between the two groups which brought Sean Monahan in Montreal. In this exchange, a 1st round pick was involved to convince the CH to release Calgary from the veteran forward’s contract.

On the other hand, this choice comes with a myriad of conditions even though it was the most complex transaction in a long time, according to the owner of the specialized site. Cap Friendly.

It’s at the end of this season that we will finally know what will happen to this first round pick.

In summary, if the Flames’ choice ends up in the Top-10 in the next draft, the Canadian will automatically receive the Florida Panthers’ choice, which should certainly end up towards the end of the round.

CH fans must therefore hope to see the Flames have success this season… But not too much. If their first round pick ends up somewhere between 11th and 20th, that would be great news for Kent Hughes for the rest of things, he who would once again find himself with two good first round picks in the next draft.

After a surprising start to the season, the Flames have since slowed down a bit but currently find themselves ranked 12th in the overall NHL rankings, which would actually represent the 21st overall pick in the draft as of today.

Everyone expects them to continue to go down the rankings gradually due to their lack of depth and the youth of their squad but everything indicates that the GM Craig Conroy does not intend to let his team fall to the bottom of the rankings.

In interview with the journalist Jim Biringer of the site Responsible GamblerConroy said he intended to add reinforcements to his squad after the loss of the striker Anthony Mantha for the rest of the season. On the other hand, even if he currently has three first round picks in his possession, his hands are tied with his own choice and that of the Panthers due to the conditions of the exchange with the CH.

It would be complicated to trade our 1st round pick because it is linked to the Montreal Canadiens but I am ready to trade picks to bring in reinforcements if needed.

Let’s hope that the Flames continue to stay in the middle of the NHL pack to allow the Canadian to obtain a draft pick that will be worth its weight in gold next June.
