“I couldn’t have chosen better than Anderlecht”

Changes have taken place at Anderlecht again recently, the latest being the arrival of Olivier Renard as new sporting director. Sports CEO Jesper Fredberg said goodbye, having above all paid the price of a complicated summer transfer window.

The Dane has been blamed for failing to bring in a creative midfielder and several summer acquisitions have failed to meet expectations so far. Players like Foket and Zanka have yet to impress. But other transfers have so far proven successful.

Simic is very happy at Anderlecht

Anderlecht, for example, paid 3 million euros to snatch Jan-Carlo Simic from AC Milan. The 19-year-old Serbian immediately established himself as a starter in defense and has even made his debut for the national team since his transfer. He is very happy at Anderlecht.

“I feel really, really good at Anderlecht,” Simic told Meridian Sport in his home country. “I couldn’t have chosen a better club for my development. I’ve only been here for a few months and I’ve already played almost 20 matches. Anderlecht opened the door to the national team for me and I’m making huge progress.”

Simic se sent important

Simic also reveals that his choice for Anderlecht was immediately praised by Aleksandar Mitrovic, himself, of course, a well-known former Mauve et Blanc player. At Lotto Park, he will have the opportunity to express himself widely, especially because there are few other alternatives in defense.

But above all, Simic praises the club’s culture. “They believe in me and that’s very important for a young player. “They presented me with a project during the negotiations and since then, they have kept all their promises. That says a lot about the respect they have for their players. They appreciate me, trust me and give me the opportunity to play at a high level. They treat me like an important player.”
