Barely leaving Standard, already against the wall: “They don’t bring what we expect” – Tout le football

This summer, Denis Dragus and Cihan Canak left Standard, leaving fans with a taste of too little. Capable of igniting the public with an action of which they have the secret, the two men experienced difficulty in being consistent and imposing themselves over the long term.

The Standard raised a little less than four million by selling them to Trabzonspor. There, the two former Rouches immediately distinguished themselves by proving decisive during the preliminary rounds of the Europa League.

But the results have been a little less fun since then. The team is not performing (two victories in thirteen matches in the Turkish championship). Canak lost his starting place in September, Dragus followed in October.

Coach Şenol Güneş did not hide it: “They are not yet delivering what we expect. Even if I have no doubt about their good intentions” he declared, in comments relayed by the media Trabzonspor Bildirim.

Güneş added that Dragus was trying to give everything he had but was quite affected by all the criticism, especially on social media. The Turkish press even writes that a departure this winter seems closer and closer. And to think that he had a 14-goal season and signed a contract until 2028…
