Five Helvetians took the route of the CHI 5*-W of Stuttgart this weekend where four disciplines will be in the spotlight. In show jumping, Steve Guerdat, with Dynamix de BélhèmeMartin Fuchs, Pius Schwizer, Alain Jufer and Adrian Schmid are entered, from Thursday in a 150 then Friday evening in the 155 qualifier (at 10 p.m….!), Saturday in a 155 also and, for the qualifiers, in the Grand Prix Coupe crowded on Sunday around 3 p.m. Quite a program!
Regarding foreign participation, world number 1 Henrik von Eckermann will be present, as will Peder Fredricson, Richard Vogel and United Touch Swinners in 2022, Max Kühner, Robert Whitaker, the defending champion Kevin Staut, and even Harrie Smolders. In dressage, Zurich’s Delia Eggenberger will be competing against Isabell Werth and Ingrid Klimke who, like Michael Jung, will be at the start of the indoor cross-country. Among the ponies, in jumping, Laura André and Victoria Scherbakov made the trip while Jérôme Voutaz is taking part in the World Cup driving stage.
HAS Valencewhere the Keller brothers jump, we raise the tone with a CSI 4* this weekend. Géraldine Straumann trains new recruits at 3*Oliva. In 2*, Charlotte Barbey continues to Ivyin Belgium. Seventeen Helvetians took the road to Italy and Gorla Minore. This is the case of Bryan Balsiger, Edouard Schmitz and Barbara Schnieper.
In eventing, the Vaud Olympian Mélody Johner competes in the CCI of Pouget this weekend with two horses in the 4* and two in the 3*.
And in Switzerland
Like last year, the Swiss Breed Classic will be organized by the Eastern Switzerland Sport Horse Breeding Association, in collaboration with FECH. It will take place this Saturday at Aadorf/TG. This is one of the most important events of the year for the FECH. The infrastructure of the Hinterthurgau Cavalry Association will accommodate the best young Swiss horses who will be presented in basic gaits or free jumping. EO
