Ambre Godillon, injured by a projectile, denounces a wave of “reverse” cyberharassment

MEDIA – A black eye and… a strange request for an apology. Hit in the face by a projectile during the Ligue 1 match between Olympique de Marseille and AJ Auxerre on Friday November 8, journalist Ambre Godillon returned with a touch of anger to this act.

The 35-year-old journalist, who officiates at the sidelines for DAZN, was struck by a projectile thrown – or fallen – from the Jean Bouin stand at the Vélodrome stadium, located behind the sidelines. She came out feeling angry and scared. The story could therefore have ended there, after the proper apologies from the Marseille club at the end of the meeting.

This was without counting on certain Marseille supporters, who, once informed of the possible accidental nature of this gesture through their club's communication, decided to attack the journalist on social networks. A wave of cyberharassment that she wanted to denounce on Monday, November 11, at the microphone of The L’Équipe channel.

« If I can take advantage of talking about it, for the past two days I have been experiencing a sort of wave of reverse cyberharassment », she denounced, before continuing on the change in attitude of OM supporters towards her. “ I have to admit that I received a lot of messages from the whole profession and I thought it was great. But conversely, the Marseille supporters, from the moment the club spread the idea that it was accidental… »

« It was not by the Holy Spirit that he got there.”

« A priori, I am supposed, according to all those who attack me, to apologize today because it was accidental », lamented the journalist again. On the evening of the match, the gesture against the journalist was forcefully condemned on air.

Since then, images of the projectile have been broadcast by RMC Sport and support the theory of an accidental release since it initially bounced off a tarpaulin. But Ambre Godillon apparently has a lot of trouble with the theory of involuntary gestures. “ I would like to point out that a throw is not accidental. The story of the tarpaulin, if we want to drown and tell the storytelling we want, of an object that bounces… The fact remains that I was between the two sidelines and the jet came between these two sidelines. And it was not by the Holy Spirit that he got there”she said, before ironically thanking “the tarpaulin” for stopping the projectile.

« In any case “accidental”, I would like us to measure these words and just know that the person who must apologize in the story is not me », decided the sports journalist. In a final tweet posted Monday, she also asked to “ move on » et « let's talk football again ».
