Friborg Olympic shines on the courts, but its financial situation is less rosy. The club therefore announced a reorganization on Tuesday in a press release.
The entire extra-sporting management of the Friborg club will now be managed by the limited company “FOB Management SA”, created in 2022. Then 50% owned by the Friborg Olympic Basket association, it recently opened a public subscription. The capital was supplemented by 33 new shareholders and is now 100% paid up.
This reorganization is the result of lessons learned from “structural problems that have emerged in recent weeks”. The club had to make a dismissal for economic reasons while 3 members of the committee submitted their resignation. An extraordinary general meeting will be held in January. On this occasion, a new committee will be proposed.
Return of Oliver Vogt
Furthermore, “FOB Management SA” announces the return of Oliver Vogt – hired this summer as general manager of the club and not retained after his 3 month trial – as development manager. In particular, he will have the task of stabilizing the club’s leading position in Swiss basketball, accelerating growth projects and innovating in the offering of products and services.
In its Tuesday edition, La Liberté announced the departure of Claude Longchamp, finance manager of Friborg Olympic. According to him, the club is living beyond its means.
