Winners of the UFOA-A tournament and qualified for the next U17 Africa Cup of Nations, the Senegal Lion Cubs were celebrated this morning during a ceremony in their honor. Like their Beach Soccer counterparts, bonuses were awarded to reward their brilliant performance.
To reward the under-17 champions of zone A of the UFOA, the president of the Senegalese Football Federation, Me Augustin Senghor, announced that each player would receive a bonus of 1 million CFA francs. Coach Pape Ibrahima, for his part, received a bonus of 2 million CFA francs.
Thanks to this victory, Senegal qualified for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations, which it won in the last edition. During the ceremony, the president of the Senegalese Football Federation, Augustin Senghor, congratulated the players and encouraged them to prepare for new challenges. “You have honored us, we are proud of you. You have proven your potential, now you have to aim higher. The objective is to defend our continental title and secure a place at the World Cup,” he declared.
Captain Ibrahime Sow expressed his gratitude for the president’s encouragement and assured that the team will do everything possible to honor the colors of Senegal at the next African Cup.
