Towards an imminent extension of Achraf Hakimi

Saint-Germain does not intend to let go of Achraf Hakimi anytime soon. To ward off its suitors, the Ligue 1 giant should shortly extend its right-back, who has become a real leader within the club.

According to information from RMC Sport, Achraf Hakimi is in the process of extending his contract which runs until 2026. PSG seems to want to quickly complete this operation, believing that the Atlas Lion is an essential element of its training.

The two parties are reportedly ironing out the final details of his contract extension and the contract length and salary are almost agreed. It should extend until 2029, reports the same source.

Indeed, Parisians consider him a player who makes the difference on and off the field. Having become vice-captain, behind Marquinhos, the 26-year-old full-back has gained weight and increased responsibility in recent months.

For his coach at PSG, Luis Enrique, Hakimi fully explores his role as leader, both on the pitch and in his personal commitments, off the pitch.

Additionally, his ability to create scoring chances despite his right-back status makes him someone his teammates rely on.
