Monday afternoon, for the penultimate stop of a four-game trip, the Canadian (4-9-2) visits the Sabers (7-7-1) in Buffalo with, in mind, the bitterness of A tough setback for Toronto’s rivals this weekend.

During training in Ontario before crossing the border on Sunday, Martin St-Louis mixed things up and possibly his lines by separating his star forwards Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield.

How it all translates on the ice remains a surprise for the first period in Buffalo, but after six consecutive losses, patience is bound to wear thin. We do know, however, that Juraj Slafkovsky and Kirby Dach flanked the captain’s wings, in the center, while Caufield was flanked by Jake Evans and Alex Newhook.

Potential trios of the Canadian

Slafkovsky – Suzuki – Dach
Evans – Caufield – Newhook
Anderson – Gallagher – Dvorak
Heineman – Conduct – Weapon

Guhle – Matheson
Hutson – Savard
Xhekaj – Struble

Cayden Primeau will be in front of the Canadian’s net in Buffalo. In his only career start at KeyBank Center last season, Primeau offered a brilliant performance of 46 saves in a victory for the Canadian.

The Sabers’ good streak

As for the crowd favorites, things are going pretty well in the last few weeks as the Sabers will try to claim a fourth consecutive victory.

After convincing victories against the Senators and the Rangers last week, the streak continued this weekend in overtime against the Flames in Buffalo.

Potential Sabers Lines

Peterka – Thompson – Tuch
Benson – Cozens – Quinn
Greenway – McLeod – Zucker
Malenstyn – Krebs – Lafferty

Byram – Dahlin
Bryson – Power
Gilbert – Clifton

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen would likely be in goal for his team in front of his fans. Among the big guns of the Sabres, Tage Thompson has the CH number while he has 14 points in 12 games against the Habs.
