Monaco regains 2nd place, Ben Seghir scores a double

Monaco, which remained in three matches in a row without a victory, regained second place in the championship on Saturday by winning in Strasbourg (3-1), during the 11th day of Ligue 1.

Trailing for a long time after a goal from Guéla Doué (29th), the Monegasques won at the end of the match thanks to a double from Eliesse Ben Seghir (79th from pen, 89th) and a goal from George Ilenikhena (90+1).

Monaco (23 pts) overtook Marseille (20), soundly beaten the day before at home by Auxerre (3-1), and are closing in on 3 points behind Paris SG, leader of the championship which plays in the evening at Angers.
