The experienced Portuguese coach wants a return to the Premier League.

José Mourinho is currently frustrated with the Turkish championship. His tirade last week was triggered by refereeing decisions. More precisely, they led Fenerbahçe to concede two penalties and turn down their own penalty appeal.

“No one abroad wants to watch the Turkish championship,” he said. “Who wants to watch this Turkish championship abroad? They have the Premier League, they have the French championship, they have the German championship, they have the Portuguese championship, they have the Dutch championship. Why should they see this? … It’s too gray, it’s too dark, it smells bad. But it’s my job, and I will give everything to my job, to my club.”

José Mourinho appeals to English clubs

Now, reports from Guardian suggest that Mourinhgo has his eyes set elsewhere, notably on the Premier League. He has his sights set on the manager’s job at Newcastle if Eddie Howe leaves. After stints with Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham, Mourinho wants a return to England.

According to close sources, the Portuguese coach would have asked to be informed of any potential opportunities at St. James’ Park. His relationship with Yasir al-Rumayyanpresident of Newcastle, could play a decisive role.

For his part, Eddie Howe recently marked his third anniversary as Magpies manager. Satisfied with the progress made, he nevertheless remains aware of thehigh expectations of Saudi owners. Despite a difficult start to the season, Howe bounced back with victories against Chelsea and Arsenal. But tensions with sporting director Paul Mitchell and the departure of key figures like Amanda Staveley last summer make the future uncertain.

If Eddie Howe leaves Newcastle, who should take over?
