Ogero simplifies subscription activation, transfer and termination procedures for displaced people

The outgoing Minister of Telecoms Johnny Corm announced at the end of the week a series of modifications made to the procedures for membership and termination of the fixed telephone network administered by Ogero, imposed by the security context due to the intensification of clashes between the Hezbollah and Israel More than 300 people have been killed, the majority since the end of September, and more than 2 million have been displaced.

In the press release published Friday by the National Information Agency (ANI, official), the minister specifies that subscribers who have had to flee their homes can request the deactivation of their subscription free of charge to no longer be charged fees. This possibility is open to those whose connections have been damaged or destroyed by Israeli strikes.

Second point: Ogero subscribers who depend on a telephone exchange damaged or destroyed by bombing will have their contract suspended from the date on which the exchange ceased to operate.

Finally, the minister specifies that subscribers who have been forced to move can transfer their subscription to their new address free of charge. If the subscription is already suspended, they will be able to reactivate it at no cost. Billing will resume on the date of reactivation or transfer.
