Tielemans whistled for 90 minutes: Bruges supporters explain themselves and give a shocking reason! – All

For Club Brugge fans, Wednesday’s match was a memorable night in the Champions League. The Blauw en Zwart indeed beat Aston Villa.

A great performance, even if the boos against the Red Devil Youri Tielemans have become a topic of discussion in their own right. For Club Brugge supporters, Tielemans remains primarily associated with RSC Anderlecht.

“The links between the Belgian national team and Anderlecht have always aroused mistrust among the Club’s supporters,” proudly declares the Blue Army supporters association. “For years, the Club’s players were the target of whistles from the Anderlecht public during Red Devils matches.”

The Blue Army notably recalls the case of Franky Van Der Elst, whistled while wearing the captain’s armband of the Red Devils in December 1994. “At the end of this meeting, exhausted and bitter, he announced his withdrawal from the “The national team, Gert Verheyen and, more recently, Hans Vanaken have also been treated in the same way.”

The supporters’ association also criticizes the choices of national coaches. “Roberto Martinez, in particular, favored Anderlecht by selecting young talents like Debast and Verschaeren, thus helping to promote the Neerpede academy in the transfer market.”

Under the mandate of Domenico Tedescothings have hardly changed, according to the Blue Army. “Tedesco continues this unfortunate trend. As a right-back, Kyriani Sabbe (19) established himself as the revelation at Club Brugge last season. This year, Joaquin Seys (19) is also shining in this position. However, for his preselection, Tedesco preferred Sardella (20 years old) from Anderlecht.

The Blue Army concludes by believing that the whistles against Tielemans were justified. “Tielemans is not only a Red Devil, he also embodies the image of Anderlecht. For the Club’s supporters, this Brussels club is associated with corruption scandals and questionable practices, such as the affair of corrupt Spanish referee during the Anderlecht-Nottingham Forest match in 1984.”
