Morata hospitalized for “significant head trauma”

AC Milan’s Spanish striker Alvaro Morata suffered “significant head trauma” after a shock in training and was hospitalized, his club announced on Thursday.

“During the morning session (on Thursday), Morata suffered significant head trauma during a shock during a confrontation,” AC Milan explained.

“He was quickly taken to hospital, where the MRI gave a negative result. Alvaro is better, but he will remain under observation in hospital, as protocol requires in similar cases,” added the Lombard club.

According to the Italian press, the captain of the 2024 European champions was injured following a collision with Serbian defender Strahinja Pavlovic. His participation in the match on the 12th day of the Italian Championship on Saturday in Cagliari seems to be ruled out.

Since his return to Serie A this summer from Atletico Madrid, Morata, 32, has scored three goals in twelve matches in all competitions, including one on Tuesday in Milan’s victory at Real Madrid (3 -1) in the Champions League.

AC Milan, which has played one match less, is 7th in the Italian Championship, eight points behind leader Naples.
