The match between the Canadiens and the Devils will be presented at 7 p.m. this evening on RDS and RDS.ca.
PREMATCH
The Montreal Canadiens begin a four-game stretch on the road this evening, first visiting the New Jersey Devils.
Martin St-Louis’ troop will then try to slow down its current series of setbacks. Second in the Metropolitan Division, the Devils have posted two shutouts in their three most recent games, allowing only three goals during this period.
Recalled from the Laval Rocket on Wednesday after the departure of Oliver Kapanen for Sweden, Lucas Condotta will be in uniform for the game. This will be his first match with the Canadian this season.
Samuel Montembeault will be the Habs’ starting goalie for this meeting. However, he will not be pitted against his former teammate, Jake Allen, who will be Jacob Markstrom’s reserve tonight.
Allen was traded to the Devils before the most recent trade deadline.
The Canadian players will, however, be faced with another former teammate, defender Johnathan Kovacevic, traded this summer to the New Jersey club.
Following this duel, the Montrealers will head to Toronto, where they will face the Maple Leafs on Saturday. The team will then make stops in Buffalo on Monday and Minnesota next Thursday.
