“Open your eyes Deschamps!”, the appeal of a world champion in favor of Chevalier among the Blues

Author of an exceptional save this Tuesday, during the duel between LOSC and Juventus, Lucas Chevalier once again made a name for himself. Voices, such as that of Emmanuel Petit, are being raised for him to be selected with the Blues.

“When you achieve such a performance at the highest level of European football, it further highlights your qualities”greeted Bruno Genesio following the European feat of LOSC, capable of surpassing Real Madrid (1-0) in its den. The next day, Didier Deschamps appeared at a press conference to unveil his list for the October rally and, once again, Lucas Chevalier (23) was missing: “He had a more than decent match (against Real Madrid). He's getting closer and closer. I didn't need yesterday's match to know that Lucas (Chevalier) has great potential. He’s younger too, that will come at one time or another,” was content to declare the coach of the Blues,
thus justifying his absence
.

This Tuesday, while Didier Deschamps will have to officially decide again this Thursday, Lucas Chevalier once again made a good impression by ruling out an instinctive strike from a certain Serb: “On the side, we still had confirmation for Lucas Chevalier. The few things he has to do, he always does very well. Everything could have changed with this goal from Dusan Vlahovic”exclaimed Emmanuel Petit as soon as the final whistle blew. The Lille goalkeeper left his mark, so much so that part of the show called l’After Foot was dedicated to him. His consultants want to see him with the Blues:
“What’s really a shame is that (Alphonse) Areola is really still light years ahead of him. Otherwise he would have had a chance to be therebegan Daniel Riolo to provoke his friend around the set. I would even say, and this is really not an insult to Brice Samba nor a provocation for the Lensois, that Chevalier is number 2 in my eyes. It’s not pushing Samba to say that”he proclaimed.

World champion in 1998, Emmanuel Petit took this subject head on: ” I don't understand. What does the selection represent? It's a reward for your performance. We are not in a private, closed club, in between. I was always told that the French team didn't belong to anyone because you are in perpetual competition. DD, open your eyes… Chevalier is just exceptional! When they make the list, they're going to be really pissed off anyway. I love Maignan, he keeps making stops. I look at the Premier League and Areola is struggling with West Ham. And it's not from this year. […] Put yourself in the shoes of a player who performs month after month. He must ask himself what he must do to join the French team. He actually has to leave Lille? Excuse me DD, but you are wrong »he castigated. The former French international must now impatiently await the speech from Didier Deschamps, who will announce his list to the press at 2 p.m. this Thursday, November 7.
