After two seasons spent at Sous-Moulin, Marco Camperi, who never really managed to adapt to Swiss reality, is no longer the coach of Genève Chênois Volley. Carlos “Charly” Carreño, who had already led the team at the end of the lake between 2017 and 2020, is making his comeback at the foot of the Jet d’eau.
Marco Camperi only stayed two seasons at Sous-Moulin.
PIERRE ALBOUY/-
Vice-champion of Spain with Almeria, this 51-year-old coach with a track record as a player as long as his arm (372 national selections!) arrives in an environment he knows well. The Iberian technician has the firm intention of working over the long term by building a team for the future, by integrating young people with great potential for progression, which fits perfectly with the philosophy of the Geneva organization. He will also take care of the succession.
President for nine years, Philippe Tischhauser will also give up his position.

“Despite a decreasing budget, we are keeping a fairly ambitious team, with the idea of qualifying for the play-offs!” rejoices Philippe Tischhauser who has also decided to resign his mandate at the next general meeting. President since 2015, the ex-player of the club will still be present on the committee to ensure the transition. While the leaders are still looking for a foreign smuggler, the backbone of the team, which will once again participate in the European Cup (replacing Lucerne, administratively relegated to the 1st league), is taking shape.
An American and a Croatian
Present last season, Jovan Djokic (captain), the talented Joosep Kuric (17 years old), Baptiste Poffet, the Americans James Norris and Dennis del Valle will be joined by Kevin Kauling (USA), as well as Stefan Kovacevic (Croatian). Young Damien Geneux and Tommaso Verde will also join the LNA squad. Genève Chênois Volley should still sign three new players by the end of June. The championship will resume – with nine teams (including Colombier, Saint-Gall and Sursee all three from LNB) – at the end of September, beginning of October.
