Following the Montreal Canadiens’ morning practice, Martin St-Louis spoke with the media and the coach was treated to a very funny question about whether he had a drink following a setback. Obviously, the coach took this question with a broad smile, but he took the trouble to answer with the repartee he is known for.
“Are we going to talk about my drinking? (laughs) I don’t think I’ll use alcohol to get over it, but I’ll tell you; beers taste better after a victory!” – St-Louis
The answer from the Montreal chief driver is just as delicious as the question and it proves that yesterday’s setback has, after all, gone well down the coaches’ throats. It hurt my heart since the club deserved a better fate, but, because of the material learned and put into practice, “forgiveness” is easier.
St-Louis took the opportunity to unveil the netminder who will be on duty Thursday, against the New Jersey Devils: Samuel Montembeault will get a third successive start, he who had two good games despite having suffered setbacks.
Note that the Montreal Canadiens currently find themselves in 15th place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 4-7-2 (10 points), while sitting in 29th place in the entire circuit, a place that is not very probably not satisfactory for a club which wanted to find itself in the mix.
