UNICEF solidarity run: every step counts for children’s rights

See you on March 2, 2025 in

After the Water Challenges and the Heroes’ Match, UNICEF is launching its new sporting and solidarity event: the UNICEF 10 km.

See you on Sunday 2 mars 2025 at the de Boulogne, in Paris, for the first edition of this committed race. All funds collected will finance our programs related to children’s nutrition.

Running for an essential cause: the right to nutrition

Across the world, food insecurity is breaking grim records. According to estimates, 200 million children under 5 live in severe food poverty and 1 in 4 children are in severe food poverty.

Concretely, this means that these children are deprived of healthy and nutritious meals even though they need them for their growth.

“We are currently facing the worst food and nutrition crisis in modern history.”

Ann Avril, Executive Director of UNICEF

Children who live in countries in conflict or regions devastated by the effects of climate change are particularly affected.

To deal with it, at UNICEF deploys nutrition programs in more than 130 countries, in order to prevent and treat all forms of malnutrition in children, adolescents, pregnant and breastfeeding women.

17 000 000

In 2023, thanks to the support of UNICEF, 17 million children will be treated for severe acute malnutrition.

100% of race profits donated to UNICEF

This race is part of the fight against child malnutrition on a global scale, and all all profits will be donated to UNICEF nutrition programs. By taking up this sporting and solidarity challenge, each runner contributes to supporting the action of UNICEF.

“By getting involved with UNICEF, participants do much more than run. They support a vital cause to give children the chance to grow up healthy.”

Ann Avril, Executive Director of UNICEF France

Influential personalities committed to our side

Among the 6,000 runners expected, personalities have already responded to put on their sneakers for the UNICEF 10 km. Among them, the doctor, columnist and author Marine Ltemporel, official sponsor of this first edition of the race.

“I am delighted to be the sponsor of this race for UNICEF. I defend the practice of physical activity for our physical and mental well-being. But above all, this race will be an opportunity to show solidarity for children around the world who live in precariousness and insecurity. These children need us to have a chance to grow and thrive.”

To date, other celebrities like Inès Vandamme, Ophélie Meunier, Yohan Durand, Benjamin Fall, Tom Villa, Estelle Denis and Claude Dartois have already responded to this solidarity challenge.
