This new season promises to be under the best auspices for the club Running in Abbeville (CAA).
Thanks to judicious recruitment and a rejuvenated workforce, with an average age under 25, the middle distance group of the Abbeville club began the sporting year with renewed energy and a team spirit which is felt on the results.
An atmosphere conducive to good results
The atmosphere within the club is both friendly and motivating, an ideal setting to get the best out of everyone. Abdelmoumaine, one of the pillars of the group, is leading the way with a string of successes this season.
He won the trail Cromagnonfollowed by Trail of the Battle of Abbeville organized by the CAA, then the Trois Villes Sœurs half-marathon. A 4th place in the Rouen half-marathon confirms his consistency at the highest level.
The Paris marathon, objective of Valentin Legris
For his part, Valentin Legriswas aiming for the half marathon in Valencia, Spain, to test his potential. Despite unpredictable weather with a deluge of rain, he achieved a time of 1h08. This performance, the result of serious preparation within the team, allows him to approach with confidence his major objective of the year: the Paris marathon in April 2025.
The positive atmosphere and emulation within the group bore fruit during the French 5 km championships in Saint-Omer on October 27, 2024.
By fielding 23 runners in virtually all categories, from cadet to master, the Courir à Abbeville club proudly defended its colors and confirmed its place among the three best middle-distance clubs in the department, alongside Val de Somme and the The unmissable Amiens University Club.
Constant Progression by Louise Duhamel
The group not only displayed great cohesion, but also remarkable individual performances. Louise Duhamelas a junior, distinguished herself by achieving a 31st place nationally and beating her personal best with a time of 18’47, a sign of constant progress over the past two years.
In junior men, Mathis Maupin finished 135th with a personal best time of 16’47. A new addition to the team, he fully benefits from the collective energy and seems well on his way to gaining momentum this season.
Noé Carpentier’s promising chrono
Among the cadets, the performances are also promising: Elisema Secachhe takes 72nd place with a time improved by two minutes since his arrival at the club, Lalie Duhamel finished 91st with a new record of 21’39, and Emma Spillebout crossed the line in 22’36, ranking 110th nationally.
In Elite men Noah Carpentier stands out by achieving a promising time with a 15mn50sec at only 23 years old. This Sunday, November 3, Hugo Berneschi achieved a time of 17’20 and Yannick Pauchetin Master 1, finished in 18’37, close to his personal best. Both benefit from the positive atmosphere and collective support within the group.
