Everyone holds their breath in St. Louis

A heavy silence fell over the Enterprise Center in St. Louis on Tuesday evening when it became clear that Blues forward Dylan Holloway was seriously injured after being shot in the throat.

The incident occurred at the end of the first period while the Blues were facing the Tampa Bay Lightning. Standing near the rail in the defensive zone, Holloway received a throw directly on the throat from Nick Paul.

Holloway continued his presence on the ice, even coming close to scoring, but once he returned to the bench, something was seriously wrong.

The match was therefore stopped and Holloway, after receiving help from the Blues trainers, was evacuated on a stretcher.

According to Daily Faceoff reporter Frank Seravalli, Holloway’s airway was clear when he arrived at the hospital and his neck did not show swelling.
