The trade deadline is not tomorrow or next week.
But seeing the Canadian’s start to the season, some are already starting to think about CH players who could be traded by March 7.
David Pagnotta notably targeted the names of four guys who should interest other NHL teams in the coming months.
The informant, in a video clip, talks about Christian Dvorak, Joel Armia, David Savard and Jake Evans.
Ultimately, it makes sense because these players are in the last year of their contract. They will be free as air on July 1st.
But where it gets interesting is when Pagnotta says that he thinks Savard and Evans are going to be at the top from the list of certain teams.
Both guys have great value… And Pagnotta doesn’t rule out the possibility of seeing Kent Hughes get his hands on a first-round pick for the defender if the CH GM ever decides to trade him:
On the other hand, in all of this, we must understand that things have time to change.
The Canadian – even if it would be surprising – could start to stick together the victories and if that happens, the chances of seeing Kent Hughes move to trade one of his best elements will be slim.
Because we must remember one thing: the goal of management is to be in the mix until the end to see if the club progresses. By exchanging Savard or Evans, that distorts this plan a little.
But just knowing that these two players could be important pieces on the market in the eyes of certain clubs, it opens doors for Kent Hughes because it would mean that teams will be ready to pay top dollar.
We know that the Montreal GM is not going to give away his players for free… But if the price is excellent, perhaps he will be tempted to let one of his big players leave through a transaction.
It remains to be continued, basically.
