after Matthis Abline, confirmation of another lousy plan

The very start of the season was nothing but a mirage for FC . In great difficulty for several weeks, the Canaries have not won since August 31, and therefore remain in 7 games without a victory including 4 defeats. A rate of relegation which worries, and which highlights a generally failed transfer window.

Symbols of an unimaginative transfer window: Matthis Abline and Sorba Thomas. Recruited at a high price – 10 million euros excluding bonus – after a series which lasted several weeks, Abline fell into line.

Very interesting at the end of last season with the Canaries, the former Stade Rennais striker who was a priority for Antoine Kombouaré, has been much less festive since the start of the 2024-2025 financial year. No one doubts that the Kita must begin to seriously regret having put so much on the table for Matthis Abline.

Concerning Sorba Thomas, the situation is different. Only loaned by Huddersfield Town (English League One), the 25-year-old Welsh winger doesn't bring much. Unable to make any difference on the right wing of the attack, Sorba is generally sterile.

If to this we add a Tino Kadewere who harvests a lot, and a Mostafa Mohamed who is clearly not at his best level, the FC Nantes attack is far from being transcendent. Fortunately, Moses Simon brings freshness and percussion to his left side. Let's hope for Nantes that the Nigerian winger is spared from physical problems in the coming weeks…

Next match against RC for FC Nantes. Could a new defeat be fatal for Antoine Kombouaré? Not certain, since a possible dismissal of Kombouaré could cost the Kita the tidy sum of 2 million euros.
