What you need to know about the 9th edition of the Moroccan dressage, show jumping and endurance championship

Horse lovers will be well served this week, with the holding of the 9th edition of the Moroccan championships for young horses, barb horses and Arab barb horses, which takes place from November 4 to 10 in the area of Sidi Berni in the region of Skhirate. A week rich in equestrian disciplines, with three distinct disciplines: dressage, show jumping and endurance.

Indeed, the equestrian disciplines of dressage and show jumping will see the best young horses in the Kingdom, aged 4, 5, 6 and 7 years old, compete for the title of champion of Morocco 2024. Show jumping will experience two other championships dedicated solely to local horses, aiming to highlight the Moroccan horse: the championships for horses of the Barb and Arabian-beard breed, as well as the championship for horses born and raised in Morocco.

The third championship to be held at the Sidi Berni estate is that of endurance where riders and horses will set off on a course of 80, 100 or 120 km at free speed. There are two categories during this championship: the individual national championship and the national club championship. The competition for the title of club champion includes all clubs having at least three riders participating in the individual events and championships of the day and the ranking is made taking into consideration the three best scores of the riders obtained during the championship events and the tests of the day.

Note that the riders and their mounts have previously participated in the Kingdom’s various national competitions to try to qualify for these championships.
