It is a popular meeting place for Girondin runners. Since 2004, hundreds of people have participated in a five or six kilometer course along the quays of Bordeaux, in the heart of the city. While the 10 km of the quays of Bordeaux celebrated its 20th anniversary this Sunday, a participant lost his life.
The runner apparently felt unwell about an hour and a half after the start of the race. “It is with deep sadness that we announce to you that the 10 kilometers of the quays of Bordeaux has just experienced a dramatic event with the death of a runner”announced the organizers on social networks on Sunday evening. “Paramedics responded to the scene and provided first aid before he was transferred to hospital.”
