XALIMANEWS-After years of struggle, Yeumbeul finally achieved her goal: becoming champion of the Dakar region. Semi-finalists in 2022, beaten by Sacré Coeur, then finalists in 2023 against UCAD, the Braqueuses finally triumphed by stripping Sacré Coeur (27-24) this Saturday.

Under the direction of coach Fallou Ndiaye, Yeumbeul triumphed over its eternal rival, Sacré Coeur, coached by Khalifa Abdoul Aziz Diouf. The Whites react with a 3-0 to return to equality (8-8), but determined, the Greens conclude the first period with a score of 15-11, thanks to Atta Dia, Anta Badiane and Coumba Sarr, all credited with 4 goals. In the second half, Sacré Coeur came back with force, reducing the gap to 3 goals (15-12). The teams exchange blows, Sacré Coeur equalizes (20-20) then goes in front (21-20), supported by their goalkeeper Adama Dia. Anta Badiane’s team succeeds UCAD, after two consecutive victories over Sacré Coeur during the Final Four.
The icing on the cake, Yeumbeul also won the titles of best goalkeeper and best player.
