NFL: Chris Olave suffers another concussion

New Saints wide receiver Chris Olave left Bank of America Stadium and was transported to a local hospital after suffering his second concussion of the season on Sunday.

The Saints said Olave could move all of his extremities.

Olave was struck in the head and neck in a third straight game while trying to catch a high pass from quarterback Derek Carr. Olave hit the ground and did not get up as officials threw several handkerchiefs for excessive roughness. Players and coaches from both teams gathered around Olave as medical staff worked to strap him to a backboard and load him onto a cart.

Olave was able to move his feet and raise his hands to greet some of his teammates before being carried off the field.

Olave is now in the concussion protocol for the fourth time in three years and has missed two games with concussions. He suffered a concussion in his rookie season in 2022 in Week 5 and missed the following game. He was ruled out of last year’s Week 12 game against the Atlanta Falcons also due to a concussion, but played the following week.

Prescott replaced after injury

Quarterback Dak Prescott was replaced by Cooper Rush in the fourth quarter of the Dallas Cowboys-Atlanta Falcons game due to a hamstring injury.

The quarterback completed 18 of his 24 passes for just 133 yards in this matchup. He threw a touchdown pass to Rico Dowdle. When it came time to leave, the Cowboys trailed 27-13.

The Cowboys will also monitor the health of their star receiver CeeDee Lamb. A mention of a shoulder injury was raised in his case at the very end of the match. He still remained at his post. He was limited to eight catches and 47 yards in the loss.

A painful touch

Did Drake London’s touchdown leave its mark?

The Atlanta Falcons receiver scored a major, but he fell hard to the ground after catching the pass from his quarterback Kirk Cousins. During the half, the organization announced that London would not return to the game due to a hip injury.

The receiver’s touchdown was scored with 5 minutes 23 seconds left in the first quarter of the game against the Dallas Cowboys. It was his sixth major of the campaign, which matched his total from the last two seasons. The last receiver to score that many touchdowns in a season was Calvin Ridley in 2020.
