nothing is going well at Charleroi which has a 5th defeat in a row at Cercle de Bruges (2-0)

Cercle Bruges inflicted another 2-0 defeat on Sporting de Charleroi, who have not won since September 15 against Beerschot. Kevin Denkey (67th) and Hannes van der Bruggen (73rd) placed Bruges in 11th place (15 points). The Zebras occupy 13th position with 14 points, like Kortrijk (14th) and Sint-Truiden (15th).

At Cercle, Miron Muslic dismissed Nunes for Flavio Nazinho. The defeat against OHL prompted Rik De Mil to present four new names: Martin Delavallée, Massamba Sow and Mardochee Nzita, starters for the first time, and Cheick Keita. During a modest first period, the Bruges tried to monopolize the ball, they created more danger than the Carolos but the spectators had enough with the fingers of one hand to count the chances. The best was for Alan Minda, who saw Delavallée save his point-blank shot (39th).

At the restart, the Zebras caused a few small sparks, which did not dazzle the opposing defense. In the meantime, Muslic decided to throw Denkey into the fight (63rd) and the Togolese quickly confirmed his scoring skills (67th, 1-0). The triple change (75th) made by coach Carolo did not have the same success. Worse, on a ball returned by Delavallée, Van der Bruggen scored his first goal for Cercle with a long-range shot (73rd, 2-0). The 4th defeat in a row in the league was recorded for a messy Charleroi.

Highlights of the meeting:

The Carolos are back in the game well. They created the first dangerous situations for themselves. But the first real possibilities came from the Cercle de Bruges side. From the feet of Augusto in the 22nd first. Very well launched from deep, the Cercle attacker found himself face to face with Delavallée but placed the ball next to the goal. Then via Minda in the 27th minute who passed forcefully through the Zebras defense before unleashing a powerful shot but deflected into a corner.

After 40 minutes of play, it was Delavallée who saved his team. Felipe Augusto started on the right flank before crossing back for Minda. The exceptional reflex of the Zèbres goalkeeper kept Charleroi in the match.

In the 67th minute, Felipe Augusto played Keita with a very good body feint, he then left on the left flank before crossing towards Denkey. The center forward just had to finish. 5 minutes later, Van der Bruggen took a corner poorly cleared by Delavallée at the entrance to a rectangle. He doubled the lead with a superb half-volley.
