Lausanne wins the Lake derby against Servette – rts.ch

Lausanne beat Servette 1-0 at La Tuilière in the 2nd Lake derby of the season thanks to a penalty converted by Noë Dussenne in the 17th minute. LS finds itself just 4 points behind its opponent of the day and 5 behind FC Zurich, sole leader of the Super League.

Lausanne celebrated a deserved success, only its 2nd in the last 9 Lake derbies. Ludovic Magnin’s squad is on a run of 5 matches without defeat – including 4 wins in a row obtained without conceding a single goal – a run that began after their defeat in Geneva on September 28.

Servette certainly reacted after conceding the opener with a penalty whistled after a foul committed by Steve Rouiller on the excellent Alvyn Sanches. But the Garnets were singularly lacking in punch and ideas, 3 days after conceding a draw (2-2) against Lucerne.

Top scorer in the Super League with his 9 goals, Derek Kutesa hardly had the opportunity to express himself against a perfectly established Lausanne defense. No more than Miroslav Stevanovic or Jérémy Guillemenot, who came on for the last quarter of an hour.

Lausanne goalkeeper Karlo Letica only had 3 saves to make, 2 on shots without real danger armed by Kutesa (43rd and 81st) and the last on a header from Rouiller (92nd). He was especially hot in the 86th minute when he saw Gaël Ondoua’s header brush his left post.

Summit shock in a week

Undefeated in its 7 previous league matches (4 wins, 3 draws), Servette therefore leaves Zurich alone at the top of the standings with 1 point ahead. Thomas Häberli’s men will have the opportunity to regain the leadership position next Saturday evening with the reception of FCZ.
