In an intense and contested meeting, Olympique de Safi was able to snatch a precious 1-0 victory against Chabab Soualem on Friday, as part of the ninth day of the Botola Pro D1.
Despite offensive intentions displayed from the kick-off, the two teams neutralized each other during the first half, accumulating attempts without managing to shake the net.
After returning from the locker room, the locals gained momentum, exerting constant pressure on the Soualem defense.
The turning point in the game came in the 52nd minute, when Cheikhna Samaké almost opened the scoring with a powerful strike, saved at the last minute by the visiting defense.
Deliverance finally arrived in the 56th minute: Souheil Yachou took advantage of an unfortunate slip from Soualem goalkeeper Hassan Doghmi to score the only goal of the match, thus offering victory to Safi.
This success allows Olympique de Safi to climb to 12th place with 11 points, while Chabab Soualem remains stuck in sixth place with 12 points.
