. Cyclo-cross – Europe – A historic hat-trick for Fem van Empel, Fouquenet 5th

After the great French performances of Célia Gery et Aubin Sparfel during the Hope races, the European Cyclo-cross Championships concluded in style with the Elite events this Sunday afternoon! The women opened the ball with a European title once again promised to the Dutch, who have not been beaten since 2017. With only 20 competitors at the start, the Batavian favorites are Fem van Empel, Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado et Lucinda Brand logically quickly broke away in the lead, then they then played cat and mouse until the last of the seven laps, where they explained themselves in a sprint. Behind this duo, the same as last year, Lucinda Brand completes this 100% Dutch podium, as in 2018 and 2020.
