After qualifying marked by rain and red flags, British driver Lando Norris will start in pole position for the Brazilian Grand Prix. George Russell with his Mercedes managed to snatch second place. Big surprise, third position on the starting grid for Yuki Tsunoda with his Racing Bulls.

Max Verstappen, leader in the Formula 1 world championship, was eliminated in the second phase of qualifying (Q2). The Dutchman only managed the 12th time, ahead of his Red Bull teammate Sergio Pérez only 13th, while only the first ten are qualified for Q3, where pole position is at stake. Verstappen also received a penalty of five places due to a change in driving force: he will therefore start on Sunday from a very distant 17th place (out of 20).
