when two hockey players stay in a retirement residence in

As part of a partnership with the local hockey club, Villa Beausoleil in -la-Forêt has welcomed two residents aged just 22 since September: Mattéo Mahieu and Konstantin Kebets.

They quickly became the mascots of this residence for the elderly. Since the start of the school year, Mattéo Mahieu and Konstantin Kebets, 22-year-old professional hockey players, have moved to Villa Beausoleil in Meudon-la-Forêt (Hauts-de-Seine).

Giant Cluedo, concerts, board games and even gymnastics in the swimming pool… The two young men are involved in bringing the establishment to life and brightening up the daily lives of retirees.

“It brings a little youth, it gives us a lot of hope for this generation,” confides Jeannine, delighted with the arrival of her new roommates.

This one-year cohabitation is part of a partnership with the Comètes de Meudon club, with which they play in the second division. In exchange for a little time spent leading group activities, they receive accommodation at a reduced price.

“The atmosphere we want to have in our home”

The integration of these two athletes went very well. “It seems like they’ve been there forever, I consider them a bit like my grandchildren,” admits Edith.

“I don’t know my grandparents, so it gives me the impression of having another family. It also allows me to free myself from the head of sport,” explains Konstantin Kebets, speaking to BFM Île- from-.

“It’s always a risk to bring students here, so I gave them a sort of job interview to make sure of their values,” admits Brenda Morel, the director of the residence. When we see their implication, it’s only positive.”

Delighted that the transplant has taken so well, the administration of Villa Beausoleil now wishes to perpetuate the collaboration with the Ile-de-France team. “It has taken on such a warm, family feel, it’s really the atmosphere we want to have in our house,” confirms the owner.
