Activating sports diplomacy in the service of the First National Cause, the African Ski Federation settles in Dakhla

The President of the African Ski Federation, Mr. Hicham Ouarchikh, concludes that the African Ski Federation, created at the initiative of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Ski and Mountain Sports on June 23, 2021, has chosen the city of Dakhla as a permanent headquarters because of its historical, political and economic symbolism in Africa and at the international level, in application of the Royal Directives towards Africa by activating sports diplomacy in the service of the First National Cause, with the participation of 11 country representatives Africans and the presence (via video technology) of the President of the FIS directly from the FIS headquarters in Switzerland, in addition to guests of honor representatives of the local authority of the city, the Ministry of Education National, Preschool and Sports (formerly Ministry of Youth and Sports), the Moroccan National Olympic Committee, the Council of the Oued Eddahab Region of Dakhla, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Civil Society, official national and international media and snow sports guests of honor from the United States of America, South Korea and the Netherlands.

It will be recalled for the occasion that Mr. Ait Ouarchikh was elected president of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Ski and Mountain Sports (FRMSSM), during the elective general assembly held recently in Casablanca.

He succeeds Noureddine Bouchaal, in office since his election in March 2023, before the appointment of a provisional committee for the management of the affairs of the Federation.

According to a press release from the FRMSSM, this elective general assembly was marked by the examination and unanimous adoption of all the points on the agenda, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 30.09 relating to to physical education and sport, including the vote on the single electoral list submitted within the legal deadlines.
