It was announced and it was doubly delivered. Not only did former Chalonnais Nicolas Lang break the record for 3-point shots, but he had a high-level match to greatly contribute to Limoges' victory over Elan.
We announced that this Friday, November 1st would be Saint-Nicolas Day in Limoges. The international was there and did not wait long to become the record holder for 3-point shots in the French championship.
A little more than two minutes and the match was stopped to symbolize and immortalize the event, with the tribute of his wife and all the basketball people of Limoges. In this Saint-Nicolas match, the Chalonnais held up well. They stayed in the match all the time, even led the score, but in the end they lost. The truth wants us to say, that with a Morris untenable after the break (17 points), with a Ristic who despite the Limousin confinement, still scored 9 points, at 4/6; captured 9 rebounds, for an evaluation of 17, the Chalonnais were still in the game (65-63) less than two minutes from the end. But the CSP dominated the last few seconds.
Elan Chalon therefore ends its terrible and difficult first series, with only one victory in seven matches; As best he could, he tried to keep his back, made his supporters scream with happiness with his victory over ASVEL, but may have regrets for the successes that he could undoubtedly have won in Strasbourg, at the Portel and probably in Nanterre.
