During an interview with the media GiveMeSport, Kalidou Koulibaly heaped praise on Nicolas Jackson, his national team teammate and Chelsea striker.
Nicolas Jackson raises huge expectations due to his qualities worthy of a world-class striker. At the end of a first season marked by a lack of efficiency in front of goal, the Senegalese international (16 caps, 1 goal) seems to have learned lessons from his past mistakes. The proof: the 23-year-old nugget already has 6 goals and 3 assists after 9 days of the Premier League. At this same stage last season, he only had 2 goals (zero goals).

“Nicolas must believe he can be that good. That’s the most important thing. All the players who won the Ballon d’Or believed in it. They all thought they could win this trophy. So we have to put that in Nicolas’s head. Of course, I’m not telling him to be selfish and ignore his teammates, but he has to think about the Ballon d’Or, and if you put that image in his head, he (Nicolas Jackson) can achieve it. And that’s what I tell him all the time. Nicolas must think that he can be the best player in Senegal and one of the best in the world, and then he will become one of the best in the world. He must continue to work”confided Koulibaly Koulibaly.
Nicolas Jackson on the Ballon d’Or podium?
The former Chelsea and Napoli defender dreams big for Nicolas Jackson. Why not climb onto the France Football Ballon d’Or podium, or even become the second African winner after Georges Weah? “With work, he can achieve any goal. So I hope that he will at least do what Mané did, and that he will be in the top 3 of the Ballon d’Or. That would be truly amazing for him.”adds the captain of the Lions of Téranga. The number 15 of the Blues will undoubtedly appreciate it.
