PSG. Luis Enrique condemns homophobic chants but regrets that the club is the only one sanctioned

PSG coach Luis Enrique condemned “completely homophobic acts of all types” while deploring Friday that he “only sanctions against PSG”this Friday, November 1 at a press conference, on the eve of facing RC , Saturday (5 p.m.) for the 10th day of Ligue 1.

The capital club was sanctioned after the homophobic chants sung for around ten minutes by supporters of the Collectif Ultras against the Marseillais during the reception on October 19, eight days before the Classic won (3- 0) by PSG at the Vélodrome.

“The stand is closed every four mornings”

But the partial closure for a match of the Auteuil stand, which will therefore be partly empty for the arrival of on November 22, ordered Wednesday by the League’s disciplinary committee is lighter than last year.

“From the club and in personal terms, I completely condemn any type of physical or verbal violence, homophobic acts of any type”said Luis Enrique. And to add: “But what I see is that there are only sanctions against PSG. The stand is closed every four mornings, whereas in other clubs, we hear all types of things and I don’t see any sanctions.”.

Last year at the same time, the League’s disciplinary committee decided to take a more severe decision to sanction identical acts by ordering the total closure of the stand for a closed match accompanied by a suspended match.

The National Ethics Committee referred the matter to the LFP for homophobic chants during last weekend’s -PSG and -ASSE meetings, which will be examined by the disciplinary committee with a decision on November 6.
