Present at a press conference this Friday, Luis Enrique was invited to comment on the sanction of the partial closure of the ultras' stand following homophobic chants. The PSG coach condemned the violence but said he was surprised to see the Parisian club being sanctioned so much, compared to others.
“The stand is closed every four mornings.” Present at a press conference this Friday, November 1 before the Paris Saint-Germain match against RC Lens on Saturday, Luis Enrique was questioned about the sanction of the partial closure of the ultras stand following homophobic chants. The PSG coach believes that his club is punished more than the others on this subject.
“From the club and in personal terms, I completely condemn any type of physical or verbal violence, homophobic acts of any type,” begins Luis Enrique, before losing his temper a little in the face of this new sanction. “But what I see is that there are only sanctions against PSG. The stand is closed every four mornings, while in other teams we hear all types of things and I don't see no sanctions…”

“But I remind you that I firmly condemn any type of violence, physical or verbal. Verbal violence is already very painful, physical violence I will not add anything,” he concluded before getting up from his chair and leave the press room.
The LFP disciplinary committee decided on Wednesday to pronounce the partial closure of the Auteuil stand for a closed match after homophobic chants were heard at the Parc des Princes during the Strasbourg reception on October 19.
The sanction will take effect from November 5. The League's disciplinary committee had already sanctioned PSG last year for similar acts by completely closing the stand for one final match and one suspended match. Last weekend, homophobic chants were also sung at the Vélodrome during the Classic, but having not been taken into account by the referee, they will not give rise to sanctions.
