Will Smith scores his first two NHL goals

The Canadian was in action last night in Washington. And Martin St-Louis’ men lost again quite convincingly…

But there were also six other games presented elsewhere in the NHL.

Let’s see what happened:

1: A beautiful moment for Will Smith

After playing eight games, Will Smith still had not collected his first point in the National League.

He remedied the situation last night.

The Sharks’ top prospect stood out with two great goals scored using his powerful and precise shot.

His second of the match was particularly beautiful:

Smith’s two goals gave the Sharks a 3-2 win over the Blackhawks.

This is notably a third consecutive victory for the Sharks.

Things are going well after their extremely difficult start to the season…

2: Sidney Crosby doesn’t slow down

Even though he is 37 years old, Sidney Crosby is still one of the best players in the National League.

It was he, moreover, who gave his team the victory last night in overtime against the Anaheim Ducks.

Sid took advantage of a turnover to beat the goalkeeper. The Penguins won by a score of 2-1:

We’ve been seeing Crosby terrorize opposing goalies for so long that at some point, clubs have to understand that he can’t be left alone in the crease like that.

We had a good example of this last night.

3: Zach Hyman wakes up… Finally

Last season, Zach Hyman scored a total of 54 goals.

He (by far) had his best career season in terms of offensive production, but it has been more difficult since the start of the current campaign.

It took him eleven games, but he finally scored his first goal of the season last night:

The Oilers served a correction to the Preds (5-1), who continue to accumulate defeats despite the acquisitions of Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault.

Things don’t go as planned in Nashville…

4: 8 goals for the Hurricanes

The Hurricanes have been on fire since the start of the season. And last night, they weren’t kind to the Bruins.

The Carolina team won the match by a score of 8-2 to sign a seventh victory in nine games this season.

Every fan’s favorite in Montreal, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, stood out by scoring his team’s last goal:

For the Hurricanes, Martin Necas was dominant with a great performance of four points (one goal and three assists).

Difficult outing for Jeremy Swayman, who allowed six goals on the 22 shots he faced before being chased out of the game.

5 : Ryan McDavid Poehling

Ryan Poehling has established himself as a valuable player on the Philadelphia Flyers roster.

He plays on the bottom-6, and he has the confidence of his coach.

But yesterday, Poehling looked more like Connor McDavid on the ice.

He created a simply magnificent play for Garnett Hathaway’s first goal of the season, who simply couldn’t believe it:

The game between the Flyers and the Blues was a bit quiet.

Only three goals were scored in the game, and it was ultimately the Flyers who won the match.

Bobby Brink scored the Flyers’ other goal.
