Trélazé. A guardian for the cemetery

In July 2023, the Courrier de l’Ouest reported on the lack of maintenance of the cemetery. Last February, a group of residents was received by Lamine Naham, mayor of Trélazé, with a view to proposing solutions to the residents to remedy this issue. A market had been set up for the maintenance of the cemetery, but, in fact, we realized that this market was not satisfactorysaid the mayor. People want to see a clean cemetery; which is normal, hence the launch of the recruitment of a goalkeeper. It was also important in terms of human presence in order to be able to exchange and discuss.

On September 2, David Goncalves arrived full-time, as guardian of the cemetery to take care of maintenance, green spaces, and to make connections. Its daily presence prevents theft from graves.

Background work

We heard the expectations of familiescontinues the mayor. Since our agent arrived, the residents have observed a spectacular change: a thank you letter was sent to us which explains the collective’s satisfaction. Providing a concrete response for the maintenance of this place is important: it means respecting the missing.

Since his recruitment, the municipal agent has accomplished an enormous amount of in-depth work: I gave everything to access this position of guardian: taking care of our deceased is essential. Everything is going well. People come to meditate and no longer have to worry about the general state of this place.
