7 players from the CTC FC club die in a violent accident (photos)

In Zambia, the world is in mourning following the tragic death of seven players from the Chavuma Town Council (CTC) Football Club. These young sportsmen lost their lives in a road accident while on their way to a Division One League match in the North West Province. This tragic event also left numerous team members injured, plunging the club and the sporting community into deep pain.

Dr Patrice Motsepe, president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), quickly reacted to this terrible news. In a message full of emotion, he sent his condolences to the families and loved ones of the missing players: “It is with great pain that I learned of the terrible road accident which caused human losses and injured seriously injured several members of the Chavuma Town Council Football Club, who were on their way to a Division One League match in the North West Province,” he expressed.

Dr Motsepe added words of comfort, showing the support of CAF and the entire African sporting community for the victims and their families. “I extend my deepest condolences, both personally and on behalf of CAF, to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased, as well as to the Football Association of Zambia. We hope and pray for a speedy recovery for those who were injured. May God bring comfort and consolation to the families, friends and colleagues of the deceased, as well as to the Football Association of Zambia,” he continued.
