KHL: another honor for Demidov

Montreal Canadiens prospect Ivan Demidov is one of the players honored last week in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

On Monday, the Russian circuit announced that the 18-year-old striker was the most distinguished rookie in the last seven days.

Demidov had six assists in three games. He also made 11 shots on goal, spending just over 13 minutes on the ice on average per game.

This is the second time that the fifth overall pick in the last National League draft has received the Rookie of the Week award this season. The winger was also crowned rookie of the month for September in the KHL.

So far in 2024-25, Demidov has scored five times and provided 11 assists for 16 points in 20 games.

His team, SKA Saint Petersburg, will return to action this Monday with a duel against Sibir Novosibirsk.
