CMO PEFormance from September 2024 – VENDÉE FOOTBALL DISTRICT

Launched in 2014 by the FFF, the Federal Educational Program (PEF) is a complete educational toolmade available to football players (bodies and clubs, managers and educators), to train licensees in the rules of the game and life.

Each month, in the Vendée region, a club is rewarded for its action carried out within the framework of the PEF.

For the month of September 2024, it is the club ofESOF who was chosen as winner for his action carried out around therefereeing and fair play among young players and their parents. This action is part of the “rules of the game & arbitration” theme.

Under the leadership of Florence Audouin and Kévin Lixfé, educators within the club, an initiative was launched in September to raise awareness among players in the U13F and U15F categories, as well as their parents, of the rules of the game and the importance of fair play.

This action is part of a global educational approach. The initial idea is to introduce refereeing and provide a better understanding of the role of referees on the field with a dual objective: to improve the climate of meetings, both on and off the field, and involve families in club life while making them aware of the difficulty of refereeing.

In its approach, the club wanted to involve Séverin Rager, Departmental Technical Advisor in Arbitration, in order to allow all participants to benefit from a theoretical and practical approach to the laws of the game.

The session began with a theoretical workshop where everyone (parents and players) was invited to explore the fundamental principles of refereeing. The different rules of football were presented in a clear and in-depth manner, from the interpretation of offsides to fouls, with the support of explanatory videos. This training then continued on the field to put the concepts learned into practice, under the eye of Séverin and the educators and referees present.

This intergenerational meeting strengthened the links between the different actors present, while allowing a better understanding of the issues linked to
arbitration. From now on, every weekend, in order to maintain this learning, a young player chooses a parent to accompany her on the sidelines and help her serve as a linesman.

This project allowed the club to strengthen its commitment to fair play and the training of its young players, by raising their awareness and encouraging them to
respect the rules of the game, and by encouraging vocations while actively involving them in the life of the club.

Congratulations for your action!
