Formula 1 | Verstappen ‘had a chance’ of pole without the yellow flag

Max Verstappen did not hide a certain frustration after qualifying for the United States Grand Prix, while a yellow flag interrupted a very good second run during Q3, after an exit from George Russell.

With the track neutralized, the Red Bull driver had to settle for second place, 0.031 seconds behind Lando Norris, who had a very good first lap in the final part of qualifying.

“In the first lap of Q3 I lost a bit of time there, I knew we had another run but I didn’t finish the lap otherwise I think we had a chance. But we’re on the front line and there’s potential to finish first so that’s okay.” Verstappen said.

The Dutchman therefore confirms that he will aim for victory in the race, after showing a very good pace during the Sprint: “We were competitive so we made minor changes to the car, and we think it will be positive for tomorrow.”
