Florian Grill re-elected as President of the French Federation

The 1900 clubs in have decided, and we re-elected Florian Grill and his Ovale Ensemble list at the head of the French Rugby Federation. He won with a very favorable score: more than 67% of the votes in his favor, compared to nearly 33% for Didier Codorniou’s list (100% Rugby). The Federation indicates a participation rate of 91.47% of votes (84.99% of clubs).

Arriving in June 2023 after the departure of Bernard Laporte and the interim presidency exercised by Alexandre Martinez, Florian Grill is therefore kept in his post for the next four years, after an electric campaign against Didier Codorniou, the two camps having multiplied the passes of weapons in relation to extra-sporting affairs for this summer of 2024, or even on the finances of the FFR.

The work ahead of Florian Grill is now colossal. And if he has a lot to do in particular regarding the supervision of the selections to avoid excesses like those experienced in Argentina, he will also have to restore confidence to many disillusioned amateur club presidents, and very angry after a campaign where the sector amateur seems to have been put aside.

Didier Lacroix representing the LNR on the Steering Committee

This election was used to designate the new president of the FFR but also to elect all the members of the Political Orientation Committee of the Federation.

At Ovale Ensemble Florian Grill is therefore elected as president, but also some of his fervent supporters like Jean-Marc Lhermet, Sylvain Deroeux, Abdelatif Benazzi (candidate for the presidency of World Rugby), Fanny Horta, Claude Helias and Olivier Pouligny . In the 100% Rugby list, we find of course Didier Codorniou, but also four other people including the former captain of the XV of France Guilhem Guirado.

Didier Lacroix, president of Stade Toulousain, was elected as a representative of the National Rugby League. The president of the LNR René Bouscatel did not delay before publishing a press release in which he congratulated Florian Grill on his re-election. “This continuity in governance allows us to continue and amplify the joint work undertaken over the last two years”he continues.
